This position is part of a unionized bargaining hourly wage for this position is starting at 24.65 which is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidates relevant knowledge skills education and prior experience a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role whether it is the starting wage or higher will be within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.

Are you passionate about fresh produce and eager to lead a dynamic team At Food Basics were looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Produce Department Head to bring our produce section to life! Join us in delivering the freshest and highest quality produce to our customers while driving sales and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience.

Schedule employees and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback or coaching as needed.
Manage inventory levels and ensure that the department is adequately stocked.
Monitor product quality and freshness removing any expired or damaged items.
Create visually appealing displays to attract customers.
Plan and execute seasonal promotions and special displays.
Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints.
Assist customers with product selection and provide information about produce.
Ensure that the department provides excellent customer service at all times.
Manage the departments budget and control expenses.
Monitor sales and adjust inventory levels based on demand.
Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation procedures.
Conduct regular safety inspections and address any potential hazards.
Communicate with store management about department performance and needs.
High school graduate or equivalent combination of education training and experience
Minimum 2 years produce/supervisory experience which includes excellent product knowledge and rotation merchandising ordering and inventory control experience
Superior customer service supervisory and communication skills
Must be fully available (days evenings and weekends)
