This is an opportunity for you to become part of a dynamic Southern Alberta nutrition team with Alberta Health Services as a Dietitian I based in Medicine Hat. As a Bariatric Specialty Clinic Dietitian I reporting to the Manager of Nutrition Services, Southern Alberta you will be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating nutrition care plans for clients in the Bariatric Specialty Clinic. You may also facilitate virtual and face to face weight management and bariatric specialty nutrition classes using nutrition counselling for behaviour change as appropriate to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team in Alberta Healthy Living Program as part of the Bariatric Specialty Care and Weight Management teams. Description:
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated effective group facilitation skills. Experience with weight management. Experience in nutrition counselling for behavior change. Knowledge and experience with virtual health applications for patient care and group facilitation (Zoom, teleconference). Knowledge of Indigenous food sovereignty, traditional food systems, and a commitment to cultural humility and integrating Indigenous perspectives into nutrition care are considered strong assets.
