Bakery Maintenance Technician

Our client is a well-established food manufacturing company supplying high-quality bakery products across Canada. They are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician on route to obtain their 433A Millwright License to join their maintenance team. This role is critical to ensuring production equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably in a fast-paced, food-grade manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be hands-on, safety-driven, and proactive, with a strong background in maintaining and improving automated processing and packaging equipment.

Collaborative maintenance team with strong leadership support

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain bakery and packaging machinery to minimize downtime

Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on production and auxiliary equipment

Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues

Complete work orders and maintenance logs using a CMMS system

Identify recurring equipment issues and recommend long-term solutions

Maintain tools, workshop equipment, and spare parts inventory

Read and interpret drawings, manuals, and technical documentation

Follow and enforce food safety, GMP, and health & safety standards

Support continuous improvement initiatives and reliability projects

Assist with training operators on basic equipment care and mechanical awareness

Participate in safety programs including lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work permits

food or bakery experience is a strong asset

Basic welding and electrical troubleshooting skills considered an asset

Able to work overtime, weekends, or shift work as required
