Be our next Lead Water Resources Engineer/Sr. Modeler!
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Water Resources Engineer/Modeler to lead and support complex hydrologic and hydraulic modeling projects. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in surface water modeling floodplain analysis and water resources planning. This role involves technical leadership project management and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions and will be working in our Infrastructure Group.
Lead the development and application of hydrologic and hydraulic models (e.g. Conduct floodplain mapping risk assessments and mitigation planning.
Analyze surface water systems including rivers streams and urban drainage networks.
Interpret and present modeling results to stakeholders clients and regulatory agencies.
Prepare technical reports proposals and presentations.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to technical excellence across projects.
Collaborate with GIS specialists engineers and planners to integrate modeling with spatial analysis and infrastructure design.
Stay current with industry trends regulatory changes and emerging technologies. Bachelors or masters degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering Hydrology or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in water resources modeling.
Proficiency in industry-standard modeling software (e.g. Strong understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic principles floodplain management and stormwater systems.
Experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS QGIS) and data integration.
Proven ability to manage projects meet deadlines and work collaboratively.
Familiarity with provincial and federal water management regulations.
Experience with climate change impact assessments and resiliency planning.
Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (Python MATLAB) for model enhancement.
