Position: Accounting AssistantReports to: Finance Operations ManagerJob Status: Full Time, OnsitePay: 47,000-52,000Location: 960 Quayside Dr, New Westminster, BC V3M 6G2Your Day to DayThe Accounting Assistant will, at various times, be responsible for the following duties, as well as other related tasks as assigned to support the business objectives and purpose of the company:
Perform day-to-day administrative functions related to student disbursements.
Enter data into the accounting system on a daily basis.
Maintain a control log of cheques issued.
Follow up with Financial Administrators regarding discrepancies in reports and ensure data accuracy.
Provide support to the Finance Operations Manager and offer administrative assistance to all members of the Finance Operations and Accounting department.
Perform routine clerical duties across various administrative functions.
Assist with special projects as required.
Basic accounting knowledge through completion of introductory accounting courses and/or at least one year of office/accounting experience.
Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
Strong keyboarding and numerical data entry skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Familiarity with office equipment such as fax machines and photocopiers.
Ability to work independently under general supervision.
Professional attitude and appearance with a commitment to quality service.
