Field Service Technician
Our client, a leading manufacturer of specialized industrial equipment, is seeking a Field Service Technician to join their growing team. With decades of experience and innovation in high-performance equipment design and manufacturing, the company is focused on delivering customized, process-driven solutions to clients across various industries.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a hands-on, technical role supporting the installation, commissioning, and service of advanced machinery at client sites across North America and internationally.
Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications on custom-built equipment both in-house and at customer sites.
- Read and interpret mechanical assembly drawings, electrical and pneumatic schematics.
- Participate in machine commissioning, start-ups, and customer support activities.
- Assist in the mechanical/electrical assembly and debugging of equipment at the company’s facility prior to shipment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to customer personnel during installation and operation.
- Ensure compliance with both customer and company safety standards.
- Communicate recommended machine improvements and parts replacements based on observations during service visits.
- Provide over-the-phone technical support as needed.
- Document service work including reports, expenses, and technical updates.
- Coordinate with internal teams, including Engineering and Project Management, to ensure project goals are met.
- Support training activities and help prepare related documentation as required.
Post-secondary education in a mechanical and/or electrical field. A Millwright license is an asset.
- Prior experience in a Field Service Technician or similar technical service role preferred.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience with PLCs and control systems (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, ABB) is a strong asset.
- Ability to read and work from detailed technical drawings and schematics.
- Ability to travel frequently (up to 65–70%), including internationally.
- Valid passport and driver’s license required.
