GBGH is looking for experienced Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) interested in working within our Float Team. 2 East - Acute Medicine, 2 North - Medical/Surgical and 1 North - CCC/Palliative/Rehab.
As a RPN you will collaborate with a dynamic team of healthcare professionals to deliver outstanding patient care, addressing a diverse range of medical conditions with dedication and expertise. Focusing on holistic healing, you will strive to ensure the well-being and comfort of patients throughout their journey. This involves routine medical management and responding to emergent situations, while adhering to best practice guidelines. As a valued member of the crew, you will be essential in upholding the high standards of care. Together, we create an environment where health, compassion, and professionalism converge to positively impact the lives of those we serve.
The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:
Graduate of a recognized Registered Practical Nursing Program
Registered Practical Nurse in good standing
Completion of Coronary Care 1 Certificate an asset
Completion of a Medication Administration Course an asset
Meditech Expanse knowledge considered an asset
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills with all patients, physicians, staff, and visitors
Must have an ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provide excellent communication with patients, physicians, staff, and visitors
Willingness to participate in process improvement
Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for patients and families as well as other members of the healthcare team within a challenging and exciting health care environment
Commitment to customer service and teamwork
Must strive to continuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers
As a partially designated French speaking organization, French verbal and written communication skills are considered an asset in this position

Hourly rate of pay $38.26 to $39.02, vacation accrual starting at two (2) weeks per year

Temporary Full Time. Shifts include days, nights, weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the SEIU collective agreement.
