Groundskeeper - Temporary

Groundsperson 1 - Temporary - 5 positions

Hours: 40.00 Monday to Friday

Start Date: As soon as possible

Salary: $28.21 Per Hour

Performs tasks related to the maintenance, repair and upgrade of district grounds, sport fields and playground equipment.

Performs unskilled tasks such as cutting, trimming and fertilizing fields, shrubs, trees, and flowerbeds, and assists with planting and weeding. removes rubbish and debris and assists with snow removal and salting; lines fields.

Assists with tasks such as the installation, repair and maintenance of playground equipment, fences, retaining walls, walkways, drainage and irrigation systems; mixes and pours concrete; Loads and unloads vehicles; transports materials and equipment as needed. Completion of grade 12 or equivalent plus additional short courses in small equipment repairs, pesticide control,

landscape maintenance, and basic horticulture.

Minimum of 6 months recent grounds related experience or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Ability to work as a member of a crew.

Good mechanical ability and ability to operate and maintain appropriate tools and equipment.

Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English.
