Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Guidewire Developer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise insurance applications using the Guidewire suite (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, and ClaimCenter). The ideal candidate will have strong software development expertise, deep knowledge of Guidewire architecture, and hands‑on proficiency with Gosu and Java. You will collaborate closely with business and technical teams to build scalable, configurable, and high‑quality solutions that align with organizational needs.
Guidewire Development
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Guidewire applications including BillingCenter, PolicyCenter, and ClaimCenter.
- Design and implement customizations, configuration changes, and extensions using Guidewire best practices.
- Work with Guidewire’s data model, product model, rules engine, and integration frameworks.
Technical Analysis & Solution Delivery
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather, clarify, and analyze requirements.
- Translate requirements into technical specifications, design documents, and implementation plans.
- Ensure solutions align with Guidewire architecture and enterprise standards.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, and debugging to ensure high‑quality, reliable code.
- Support QA and UAT teams by providing test data, troubleshooting, and defect resolution.
Code Quality & Collaboration
- Review code written by peers and provide constructive, actionable feedback.
- Follow and promote coding standards, documentation guidelines, and development best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (stand‑ups, grooming, sprint planning).
Support & Continuous Improvement
- Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve issues related to Guidewire applications.
- Stay current with the latest Guidewire releases, patterns, and best practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for performance, usability, and maintainability.
Essential Skills
- 6–8 years of overall software development experience with solid Guidewire expertise.
- Hands-on experience with Guidewire BillingCenter (primary), plus PolicyCenter and/or ClaimCenter.
- Strong understanding of Guidewire architecture, configuration, and data model customization.
- Proficiency in Gosu and Core Java.
- Experience with Guidewire integrations (SOAP/REST, messaging, event handling).
- Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and insurance domain processes.
Desirable Skills
- Exposure to the broader Guidewire cloud ecosystem.
- Experience integrating Guidewire with external systems and enterprise services.
- Familiarity with API gateways, ESB, or event‑driven architectures.
- Understanding of insurance domain concepts (billing, policy issuance, claims processing).
