Personal Support Worker Instructor
Job Type: Part-time and Hybrid
Location: CDI College, Mississauga Campus

Hourly Wage: $32/hr

Specifically, the Instructor will be responsible for:
Teaching and Curriculum Delivery:
Deliver engaging and effective instruction in the Personal Support Worker program curriculum.
Plan, prepare, and implement lesson plans that meet the learning objectives of the course.
Use diverse teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles, including lectures, group discussions, and hands-on activities.
Student Support and Development:
Provide academic support to students, including tutoring, mentoring, and guidance.
Offer constructive feedback to help students improve their knowledge and skills.
Contribute to the development and updating of course materials to ensure relevance to industry standards.
Align program content with current trends and needs in the social services sector.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
Ensure compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
Establish and maintain connections with social service agencies to facilitate student placements or program improvement.
Stay updated on developments in the field of social services to bring current knowledge into the classroom.
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness.
Assist in student recruitment and retention efforts as needed.
Support the coordination of field practicums or internships for students.
Degree, diploma or certification from a recognized university
Three or more years’ experience in a related field
A minimum of 1-year instructional experience or hold a certificate in adult learning

Relevant industry skills and knowledge relating to the area of instruction, including ongoing professional development and continuous improvement
Interest in pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches an asset
High standards of behavior, a professional attitude and commitment to quality service
Ability to work cooperatively with other instructors and staff
