Temporary Child and Youth Counsellor

We are seeking passionate Child and Youth Counsellors to be placed in a casual pool to fill short-term as well as long term vacancies during the school year. Casual Child and Youth Counsellors will have the opportunity to apply for long-term temporary and/or permanent positions as they become available.

Replacement

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Child & Youth Counsellors (CYCs) work as a member of an integrated school team. They collaborate with families, school staff, and community agencies to enhance student success and well-being. Child and Youth Counsellors promote, support, and facilitate school and class-wide preventative initiatives and programs that foster healthy, safe, and inclusive Catholic school environments. As part of an inter-disciplinary team, CYCs provide direct small group and individual support for students of all ages impacted by a range of social, emotional, and developmental concerns.

Qualified applicants will hold a Child Care Youth Worker Diploma from a recognized post Secondary institution.

Capacity to engage members of diverse communities and skilled in a variety of consultation techniques, protocols, and strategies.
