Mechanical Engineer (Design & Analysis)

SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway.
SYSTRA Canada is looking for a Mechanical Engineer in systems integration to lead the integration and validation of mechanical systems for refurbished passenger cars. They will translate customer and regulatory requirements into qualified, manufacturable designs and ensure compliance by guiding suppliers, conducting reviews and analyses, and supporting on-site installation.
Define functional and design requirements, select materials/components, and prepare or validate 3D models to deliver qualified, manufacturable solutions for refurbished passenger cars.
Manage and support system suppliers through design and qualification testing, monitor progress, and present technical documentation at client design reviews.
Perform analyses and calculations to verify compliance with customer requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations; define test requirements and procedures.
review and sign production drawings and material lists; participate in first article inspections and tests.
Lead studies and technical reports to resolve operating and reliability issues; develop manufacturing and installation instructions and provide on-site technical support.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
Technical competencies:
Knowledge of 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor or Catia.
Efficient with the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Industry experience or rail transport experience is an asset.
Knowledge of FRA, APTA, AAR, SAE, ASME, CSA or Transport Canada rail vehicle standards will be considered assets.
Clear verbal and written communication skills, both in French and in English*
