Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
As an Electronics Engineer in our Product Development group, you will play a key part in the selection, test, evaluation, and support of electronics and systems that support a range of CBN identity products and identity-adjacent systems. Design, Development, Test and Support
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and architectural specifications.
Work closely with chip suppliers to ensure a mutually supportive relationship and evaluate/select new chip products for inclusion in our product lines.
Apply cryptography and security technology knowledge to ePassport and smartcard projects.
Evaluate, test, and support electronic hardware for smartcards.
Conduct system-level debugging, validation, and performance optimization.
Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in electronics, smartcards, and image processing. Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, process flows, and performance reports.

Ensure product designs meet industry standards (FCC, CE, RoHS, ISO) and regulatory requirements.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related
Familiarity with International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) ePassport standards and compliance frameworks
Analysis, problem-solving
5+ years of experience in relevant position (electrical engineering, embedded systems, smartcards, etc.)
~ Technical Environment
Programming Languages: Java, JavaCard, C#, Python, ISO 7816.
Language: Fluency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain (in a timely manner) and maintain Government of Canada Secret (Level II) personal security clearance
