Food Services Assistant (Casual Part Time)

Come work as a Food Service Worker with Island Health. Island Health is seeking Food Service Workers to join the team within facilities across Vancouver Island, BC. Multiple openings are available, including full-time, part-time, casual and temporary positions.
The Food Service Worker performs a variety of food services duties such as portioning and serving food, washing and/or preparing food items such as fruits and vegetables, tea, coffee and toast, and cleaning and sanitizing work area according to established procedures, standards and operational requirements.
Shifts of work will vary as multiple openings are currently available. Island Health provides health and care services to more than 885,000 people on Vancouver Island, the islands in the Salish Sea and the Johnstone Strait, and mainland communities north of Powell River. With more than 30,000 health care professionals, including more than 3,000 doctors, nurse practitioners, midwives and dentists that make up our Medical Staff, as well as 1,000 volunteers, and the dedicated support of 12 foundations and 19 active auxiliaries, Island Health delivers a broad range of health services, including: public health services, primary health care, home and community care, mental health and substance use services, acute care in hospitals, and much more across a huge and geographically diverse region.

Education, Training And Experience
Food Service Workers: Grade 10 plus one (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Certificate in Food Safe Level 1.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Current and future full-time, part-time, temporary, and casual opportunities may be available.
