Job Summary

What is the Opportunity?
Global Payments Technology Engineering is on an exciting journey to modernize the way how RBC and Canada will complete digital payments. The future of payments will look much different in coming years and we are just getting started! The new payment engines will be running in Cloud and have real-time integrations with multiple systems. It will result in faster, more resilient and more secure transactions. As a Cloud Developer, you will participate in developing our e-Transfer and Digital Payment platforms. You will have the opportunities to design, build and deploy applications into our Cloud environments. Please note that we have multiple openings in the team.
What will you do?
Be part of an Agile squad to create new services and applications using the latest technologies that will shape the future of payments for RBC
Develop high-performance, highly scalable APIs and engines
Build and reuse our rich stack of libraries and frameworks for development
Access to our internal development community and learning portals
Seek out industry trends and organization knowledge to provide approaches and solutions
Deliver user stories through pair programming or working individually
Ensure high code quality with automated testing
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Computer Science degree or equivalent
Java or Scala development background
Experience with application development (especially in Spring Boot)
Experience with Cloud development (especially in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform)
Nice-to-have
Experience with Apache Kafka
Experience with Apache Camel
Experience with Akka or other reactive toolkits
Experience with MongoDB
Knowledge of PostgreSQL, MariaDB or other relational databases
Knowledge of Dynatrace
Knowledge of ELK Stack
