PolyAnalytik is a contract research and manufacturing organization, specializing in the characterization of niche material and manufacturing of high-quality chromatography kits. Our focus is on providing complete analytical solutions to help our clients integrate and advance their products performance and safety.
Job Summary: PolyAnalytik is looking for a potential candidate to join the Product Development team. This position is offered as a contract to support its Product Development team located at Western Research Park in London, Ontario.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test various mechanical & electronic components and assemblies
- Develop and debug software for hardware control, user interface, data collection, data analysis, and reporting
- Integrate components and assemblies of hardware and software for the goal of making laboratory testing analytical instrumentation
- Read on and grasp various physical and chemical concepts that will be applied in the developed instrumentation
- Troubleshoot problems in hardware and software to identify root causes and solutions
- Lead the certification process of the instrumentation for the required regulatory and industrial standards
- Generate and update 2D & 3D Drawings of instrument components and assemblies as well as specifications, tolerances, and bill of materials
- Build and test prototypes of instrument components, assemblies, or full instruments to verify and validate functioning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define instrument specifications and requirements and user needs
- Communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders and participate effectively in meetings
- Prepare organic and aqueous liquid samples for testing on the instrumentation
- Organic & Aqueous solvent handling and storage
- Develop and document standard operating procedures, technical documents, manuals, test reports and others
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in developing analytical instruments, with a focus on hardware and software integration.
- Expertise in one or multiple programming languages
- A strong attention to detail is a must.
- Possess problem solving skills where a definite answer may not be clear.
- Excellent project and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and part of a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess proficiency in writing technical reports and preparing presentations.
