Supervisor, Operations
Recreation and Facility Services
Under the general direction of the Manager, Recreation. the incumbent ensures the safe, efficient, customer focused operation and maintenance of all the Indoor recreation facilities.
Leads the operation, maintenance and repairs of indoor recreation facilities, and janitorial services, delivered in-house or by contractors. Serves as the liaison with leaseholders and vendors.
Recruits, directs, schedules, trains and appraises the performance of reporting staff. Reviews. investigates, and responds to public complaints, incident reports, and facility safety and security concerns.
Analyzes operational data, reviews designs, compiles Information, maintains statistics, prepares and presents reports, supports decision-making and promotion of the facilities.
Prepares and monitors (controls), under the direction of the Manager. proposal calls and reports and awards or recommend awards in accordance with the City's Purchasing Policy.
Plans and executes seasonal changeovers with detailed work plans, risk assessments, and stakeholder communication.
Hours of work: 4x10 hours or 5x8 hours shifts/week. Exposure to occasional disagreeable conditions including dust/dirt, grease/oil, inclement weather and temperature extremes and hazardous substances.
Diploma in Recreation Facility Management or related field

• Previous Experience - 5 years maintenance experience in facility operations, Including experience within aquatics and/or arena environments. Demonstrated experience with asset management and lifecycle planning
• ability to lead a multidisciplinary team across varied operational shifts.
• Knowledge of public health requirements for pools, refrigeration plant safety practices, and municipal facility standards
• Commitment to customer service, accessibility, inclusion and cultural safety
• Class 5 Driver's License

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Pool filtration system, chlorination and PH control systems, water test kits and pool vacuum, ice resurfacing and ice refrigeration/boiler systems, janitorial equipment, basic carpentry and small power tools, communications and office equipment, City vehicles, trailers and bobcat, and computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Explorer, Outlook, Class for Windows, and ERP.
