$We are seeking a part-time Gallery & Gift Shop Assistant to assist our customers, support our front desk, and help keep daily operations running smoothly. We’re looking for someone reliable, friendly, and comfortable interacting with the public. This entry-level role is temporary, with opportunities for extension depending on funding availability.
The Gallery & Gift Shop Assistant helps create a welcoming environment while keeping things organized and aesthetically pleasing. You’ll work independently to welcome visitors, handle retail sales, maintain gift shop displays, and perform light administrative tasks, while reporting to and receiving guidance from the Gallery Operations Manager.
Welcome visitors and provide a quality gallery experience; Operate point-of-sale, complete basic data entry, and assist with merchandising
- Assist with basic administrative tasks and keep the gallery organized
- Open and close the Gallery, follow established procedures
- Strong customer service or communication skills
- Basic computer skills and a commitment to learning gallery systems and technology
- Comfortable working independently in a public-facing role
- Ability to perform light physical work (hanging pictures, moving display items) is an asset but not a requirement
Experience in retail or customer service is an asset.
A genuine interest in local arts and culture is a plus!
The Quesnel Art Gallery is located in the Quesnel Arts and Recreation Centre, a fully accessible, multi-use community space with a pool, fitness centre, pottery studio, meeting rooms, playground, bike park, and walking trails. ca or deliver in person at the Art Gallery & Gift Shop, 500 North Star Road.
