SEO Content Creator

Our client, a Top 5 bank in Canada is looking to hire a
Content Editor for an initial 6 Month contract with a high possibility of extension and conversion. This role is 1-2 days a week in the office in downtown Toronto.
Content Strategy & Research:
Conduct content strategy tasks and UX research to support projects in their initial phases.
Perform competitive analysis, content inventories, and usability research.
Draft usability questions and wireframe copy to guide content decisions.
Content Creation & Management:
Write, edit, and proofread digital content to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with brand voice.
Maintain editorial standards, ensuring content aligns with business goals and user needs.
Optimize content using SEO best practices to improve visibility and engagement.
Ensure all copy meets accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.0) and follows plain language principles.
Manage the editorial workflow, supporting French translation efforts when needed.
Oversee version control and ensure alignment across multiple digital properties.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX and visual designers, product owners, and business stakeholders.
Conduct content walkthroughs with project teams and external partners, including legal and regulatory groups.
Provide expertise and guidance on content creation best practices, CMS authoring, and workflow tools.
Training & Knowledge Sharing:
Stay updated on emerging web technologies, accessibility standards, and digital content trends.
Help onboard and mentor team members on editorial workflow and content best practices.
Contribute to maintaining and updating the content style guide and editorial standards.
5+ years of experience - content editor /content design/UX writing/editorial environment
~ Experience writing for web and/or digital properties
Familiarity with enterprise project methodologies and publishing/workflow tools
Previous experience working with cross-disciplinary teams of UX and Creative Designers, Content Strategists, Product Design Leads and more
Familiarity with the principles of content strategy and inclusive writing
Familiarity with WCAG 2.0 Accessibility Standards and plain language principles
Working knowledge of SEO and user experience
