Assistant Gérant Asset Management

The Asset Management team is an established group that has been successfullycoordinating asset management practices for over eight years within the Fire Centre. Made up of six members including Asset Management Assistants and a Coordinator this team operates across various locations in the Northwest Fire Centre Region. They play a critical role in supporting Wildfire Crews by ensuring the effective management of fleet assetsand facilities. Team members work closely with colleagues from finance procurementheadquarters and contractors all while prioritizing the needs of others especially during emergency response situations. As the Asset Management Assistant you will support the Skeena Zone by managing the Inventory Management Information System monitoring stock levels of supplies and tool caches and ensuring they are replenished as needed. Youll also monitor provincial fleet usage and make recommendations on repairs replacements modifications andaddressing any misuse or underutilization. Additionally youll help coordinate the maintenance and repair of facilities identifying critical concerns at BC Wildfire Service sites. Grade 12 graduation or equivalent
Experience working in wildfire management
Experience in facilities assets (including inventory management) or vehicle fleet management
Practical experience in building maintenance or small engine repair
Experience in contract and procurement management

To be flexible regarding ongoing changes in responsibilities assignments and corporate structures.
To take in-house training and certification as required.
To fly in aircraft (fixed wing and rotary) as required.
To travel and overnight in remote locations where accommodations may vary as required.
To work under adverse or stressful conditions including smoke extreme heat and mountainous terrain in remote and isolated conditions.

This position has full time on-site requirements.
