The Infrastructure, Transportation & Parks department requires one regular Full time Pipefitter - Layer (Water).
Your role will be varied as you will perform skilled pipe laying work according to plans, line and grade; locate underground utilities; perform shoring duties in excavations and direct the work of one or more Labourers. You will also be required to drive a service truck and respond to emergency and trouble calls.
A minimum of two years related experience in water utility systems and a thorough knowledge of the methods, practices, procedures and materials, tools and equipment used in water operations, maintenance and construction is required. You will have a valid Class 5 BC Drivers’ License (prior to selection, applicants will be required to produce their driving record). You will have completed Grade 12, supplemented by courses leading to certification in Water distribution 1 within the Environmental Operators Certification Program (EOCP). You must be able to deal effectively with the public and embrace values such as teamwork, respect, a positive attitude, professionalism and integrity. 35.48 per hour
