Risk Analysis Analyst

As a Controllership and Risk Advisor , you'll support strong financial management across the ministry. You'll guide partners on modern controllership practices, strengthen internal controls, and help ensure financial processes are clear, efficient, and effective.

support the work of the Senior Consultant, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) on their oversight and delivery of the OPS ERM Directive

• lead the development and rollout of internal control frameworks, tools, and processes
• coordinate internal audit activities and help assess the strength of controls
• ensure financial, IT, and operational risks and controls are well designed, documented, and tested
• oversee the implementation and monitoring of the OPS Internal Controls Framework
• manage controllership policies, systems, and procedures to support effective financial operations
• provide training, guidance, and best practice tools to finance teams and ministry leaders

you have a strong understanding of financial directives, policies, and modern controllership practices

• you have knowledge of public sector accounting standards and GAAP
• you can assess risks within business processes and offer informed recommendations
• you can conduct financial analysis to support planning and decisions

you have the ability to interpret government policies and assess their impacts

• you can assess financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies

• you have the skill to explain complex financial and controllership topics in plain language
