On - Site Service Specialist (Full Time)

This program Supports two male person served who live together at their home. Their diagnosis are Autism Spectrum Disorder Epileptic seizure developmental disability and depression.

This is a complex needs behavior position as the individuals can be verbally and physically aggressive and requires mental health supports and interventions through out all shifts. The Disability Services Worker (DSW) under supervision of their supervisor facilitates and monitors education and development programs for purposes of providing individuals in service with physical behavioural emotional and social supports/supervision in residence and in the community. DSWs develop relationships and act as a liaison with the community family members guardians and employers. Challenging behaviours may occur on a daily basis therefore only applicants with de-escalation techniques experience and 2 years experience working with significant high behaviors mental health concerns trauma will be interviewed. An additional $3.30 per hour will be paid when supporting complex needs clients. This additional amount does not apply to scheduled trainings/meetings and non-complex shifts.

One (1) permanent full-time position that will work 40 hours per week:

Working overnight awake shifts from 2000-0800

Position will work on a two week rotation with the following schedule: Week 1Wednesday and Thursday Week 2Monday Tuesday Friday Saturday and Sunday In Your Role You Will

Support/supervise clients complex behavioural emotional and social needs/development (in the residence & during community activities)

Provide client-specific individualized supports (IPP) in a consistent healthy & safe environment

Use de-escalation techniques to deal with challenging behaviours on a daily basis. May be required to perform physical restraints (holds) on an individual to stop an individual from violent or destructive behaviours that place themselves or others at risk.

Assist with household chores (meal prep cleaning etc.)

Drive person in care (in your own vehicle) within the community.

Provide immediate support in crisis situations.

Assist in the design implementation & evaluation of ISPs program specific policies & procedures.

Connect the individual with their family friends & community.

Use computer program to write objective daily reports and document notes & observations regarding the client

High School Diploma/GED.

Prefer a Certificate Diploma or Degree Disability Service Worker Social Work Special Education or related field

Valid class 5 driver license (or GDL and 2 years driving experience) with clear driving abstract and reliable vehicle

Training in Trauma Informed Practice Medication Administration Suicide Intervention Managing Aggressive Behaviour (UMAB) Conflict Resolution Food Safe
