The carpenter is responsible for constructing and maintaining buildings.
Required knowledge includes construction and remodeling trades practices procedures techniques tools and equipment materials specifications quality control cost control and safety.
The carpenter must be proficient at the following tasks: hanging doors drilling and setting door hardware setting windows layout for stairs and common rafters formwork and reading blueprints. The carpenter must also possess the mathematical and analytical skills necessary to do materials estimates.
Qualifications :
Journeyperson Carpenter ticket or currently registered apprentice
Experience with a large general contractor
Solid knowledge of tools materials safety and construction best practices
Valid drivers license and clean drivers abstract preferred
Willing and able to work out of town (Cochrane Canmore Banff Airdrie and Calgary surrounding areas).
Ability to climb ladders for heights of up to 60 feet is preferred
Concrete and formwork experience is preferred
Valid Elevating Work Platforms Fall Protection and First Aid certifications are considered a bonus
