Safety labourer

This posting is for multiple hourly evening on-call positions for up to 12 weeks

Strathcona County Recreation Parks and Culture is currently seeking motivated and engaged individuals to work as part of our dynamic summer operations team.

As a Labourer I this position will be required to assist with snow removal on an on-call basis around Broadmoor Lake Sherwood Park Arena Kinsmen Leisure Centre Festival Place RPC Admin and Broadmoor Public Golf Course.

Perform manual tasks in all parks operations and Broadmoor Public Golf Course including use of hand power tools and equipment (shovels scrapers etc.)

Learn the safe operation of small equipment (backpack blowers)Follow safety guidelines to keep self and others safe on the work site

Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety MSDS and WHMIS regulations and First Aid Training

Previous experience as a labourer or in landscaping construction forestry greenhouse playground golf course agricultural or irrigation practices would be considered an asset

Experience operating small equipment would be considered an asset

Current First Aid and CPR certification would be considered an asset

Valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers licence and submission of a 5-year Drivers Abstract with less than 7 demerits

Ability to work a variety of shift work
