Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:45 PM (Nine-Day Fortnight
This position works in the Revenue Services organizational unit, responsible for financial analysis, budget, systems and cash management work performed in the Finance Department. An incumbent assists in the development and implementation of financial systems to provide management information and maximize operational efficiency and effectiveness. Responsibilities also include the development and preparation of operating budgets and financial reports and the conducting of financial analysis to facilitate the decisions of senior management. The incumbent must be able to provide a written and verbal account of business processes, together with critical analysis and recommendation for improvement to management. The incumbent is self-driven and exercises considerable independence of judgement and action in all aspects of the work, but discusses difficult problems and policy matters with a supervisor. Qualifications include completion of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or international equivalent recognized in Canada, plus a minimum of two years related financial analysis experience. Thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, and procedures of accounting operations, including PSAB, IFRS and GAAP. Experience working in a Municipal setting, including working with an ERP system and software related to the position (SAP, Tempest, iPayment, Energov, ActiveNet), along with experience working with the Microsoft suite of products, including complex excel formulas and Power BI. Ability to analyze, prepare, and present a variety of financial and statistical reports and data; Ability to work in the capacity of a business liaison for the Revenue Services department, including excellent facilitation and interpersonal skills with the goal of assisting business units with inquiries and coordinating internal meetings.
