1 temporary, full-time position for 12 months with possible extension in the Food Safety and Environment Division/Food Safety Systems Development Branch
Who we are: Food Safety and Environment Division: The Food Safety and Environment Division is responsible for the ministry's main regulatory functions relating to protecting the public interest in food safety, animal health and nutrient management. The division provides education and program support in areas including animal health, animal welfare, food safety, traceability, nutrient management, and environmental best practices. The division also hosts the Office of the Chief Veterinarian for Ontario and its functions. Economic Development Division: The Economic Development Division is responsible for programs and services to support information technology transfer. It is responsible for expanding Ontario food and agricultural sales in export and domestic markets, and providing support to the processing industry through investment attraction, investment retention and sector development. In this role, you will provide a range of administrative support services to staff and clients. These services will include:
providing client and program administration support for a range of programs
entering, tracking and manipulating data to support branch projects
planning and organizing unit meetings, tracking projects
lead and deliver unit level administrative projects
supporting the branch administration team
Note: These positions are required to report to and work from the physical work location (1 Stone Rd., Guelph) a minimum of three days per week. Communication and customer service skills:
You have communication skills to explain policies, procedures and reporting requirements.
You have customer service skills to provide a variety of services to internal and external clients reliably and routinely in a highly responsiveness manner.
You are able to support management in tracking multiple projects, following up on action items and providing status updates to team members.
You are able to reliably manage records, track and retrieve information and data.
You have analytical skills to support the development, implementation and tracking of new and/or updated administrative policies and procedures.
You have analytical skills to review financial transactions for compliance with policies, procedures and guidelines.
Computer skills:
~ You are proficient with databases (e.g. Salesforce), common office computer equipment (e.g. desktops, laptops and various other peripherals) and software such as OneNote, and Microsoft Office applications.

Financial administration skills:
You have numeracy skills to support financial management, tracking and budgeting.
You are able to interpret and apply financial policies, procedures and guidelines.
