Assistant Controller Accounting

Northside Auto Group is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Controller to support the Controller with day-to-day accounting operations across the dealership group. This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to grow into a senior accounting or controller position within an automotive environment.
Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and schedules
Monitor and reconcile general ledger accounts
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, inventory reporting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Support audits and respond to accounting inquiries
Collaborate with department managers to resolve accounting discrepancies
Provide backup support for payroll, AP, AR, and other accounting functions as needed
Ensure compliance with tax regulations (HST, payroll remittances, etc.)
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of accounting experience (automotive dealership experience is an asset)
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles
- Proficiency with accounting software and Excel
- Competitive salary ($65,000 - $70,000 per year)
