Senior Procurement Specialist, Supply Chain

This role plays a key part in driving procurement strategies, optimizing supplier relationships, and ensuring efficient supply chain operations across both domestic and international markets. The successful candidate will bring a strategic mindset, strong negotiation skills, and cross-functional collaboration experience to help deliver high-impact results in cost control, inventory optimization, and vendor performance. • Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, you will be responsible for :

Strategic Procurement Planning:

Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with organizational objectives by analyzing market trends, stock market fluctuations, and geographical factors to ensure sourcing decisions deliver optimal pricing and value.

Coordinate the supplier evaluation process by partnering with purchasing and product development teams to identify and assess vendors based on quality, reliability, and cost-efficiency. Work collaboratively with product managers and buyers to negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to ensure optimal value and alignment with organizational goals.

Inventory Management:

Work closely with the Inventory Controller to monitor stock levels and develop effective inventory control strategies that balance availability with cost-efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accurately forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory levels to support ongoing operational requirements while minimizing carrying costs and the risk of stockouts.

Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal procurement policies, including international customs requirements. Proactively identify and mitigate risks across procurement activities, such as supply chain interruptions, price volatility, and product quality concerns.

Process Improvement: Contribute to the continuous evaluation and refinement of procurement processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline workflows. Support the implementation of industry best practices and assist in utilizing technology solutions to enhance purchasing operations.

Logistics Support: Work collaboratively with logistics teams to ensure procurement activities align with inbound delivery schedules. Help coordinate and communicate shipment timelines and updates to facilitate a smooth flow of goods into distribution centers.

International and Domestic Inbound Traffic Coordination: Assist in monitoring freight budgets by tracking spending and identifying areas for potential cost savings or avoidance. Compile and analyze data to support reporting on purchasing trends, expenses, and key performance metrics.

Bachelor's degree or diploma in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is required

Professional certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CPM) would be an asset.

Demonstrated experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, with a minimum of 5 years in a related role; experience leading teams or managing projects is considered an asset.

Keen self-awareness with experience leading projects effectively and mentoring the team, role modeling and supporting a high-performance culture grounded in humanistic values.

Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors and suppliers. Critical thinker with an aptitude for change management and process improvement, adept at communicating insights derived from analyses (interpret data, identify insights, and make data-driven decisions).

Strong organization skills and ability to balance project work with urgent day-to-day tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Proven ability to understand the business goals of the company and how to drive them forward in alignment with departmental responsibilities as well as customer needs.

Proficient in procurement software, ERP systems, and the Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics and SAP is considered an asset.

Knowledge of procurement best practices, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.

Bilingual French/English (verbal and written) an asset.
