FULL-TIME, TEMPORARY (APPROX. As a member of the Float Pool the RPN will be assigned to work in the department/site that is requiring additional staffing support. The RPN will work collaboratively as a member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide care to those patients with a stable and predictable outcome within the defined professional scope of practice as set out by the CNO. The RPN is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to patients in order to attain or maintain optimal function.
While the successful candidate will have the option to select 2 preferred sites, it is understood that travel may be required to all sites in the corporation.
RPN Certificate of Competence with the Ontario College of Nurses
Competency in aseptic technique, urinary catheterization, administration of medications, IV therapy, POCT
Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families and other healthcare professionals
Access to reliable transportation as travel to rural hospitals is required based on staffing needs
Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
Adherence to Brightshores ‘CARE’ Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and ‘LEAD’ Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment
