Process packaging Engineer

Job Responsibility:
Job Summary The Packaging Engineer works with our sales team, purchasing, customers, and manufacturing organization to strategically develop, select, and integrate high-quality and cost-effective packaging into the company, effectively matching customer expectations with Bentley current or expanded packaging and filling capabilities.
Reports to:
Director of Packaging Development
Duties
Source packaging options to fit project brief within budget as defined by the product development team; source and test sustained new material and post-consumer recycled material.
Present a collection of packaging samples with decoration options and associated costs to Marketing for feedback and redirection as needed and provide green decoration options to customers.
Work closely with Product Development for each project, ensuring all factors relating to packaging are accounted for.
Review technical drawings.
Coordinate package testing as needed.
Manage vendor timelines to meet the required contract manufacturer's component delivery date.
Communicate risks to key stakeholders.
Participate in the artwork routing process and release final artwork files to the vendor.
Write component specifications for the final package.
Write fill and assembly specifications, working cross-functionally with operations and product development.
Customer feedback review and send the correct point to the plant.
T, E, and H cross-check and make sure it has no grinding issue at min. and max.
Making model
Matrix inspection report review
Sample (from new tooling) review.
UCT drawing review and sometimes modification.
Make rendering.
Applicator UCT fitting review.
Drawing functionality and possibility review.
Qualifications
- BS in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in cosmetics or consumer goods manufacturing
- Knowledge of packaging component manufacturing and finished good filling processes.
- Ability to predict, recognize, and define problems, and generate, select, and implement timely solutions.
- Experience in sustainable packaging initiatives.
- Detailed knowledge of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging types.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex projects in tandem.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects - prioritization and planning.
- Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
- Process improvement experience.
