The pediatric speech language pathologist position is based out of the Okotoks Health and Wellness Centre and supports children and families ages 0-18 years who live in rural communities south of Calgary to Claresholm. Working under the supervision of the Rural Pediatric Allied Health manager, the speech language pathologist works as a member of an interdisciplinary team performing duties that align with the new AHS Pediatric Rehabilitation Service Priorities. Our child- and family-centred approach emphasizes early intervention, functional skill development, and meaningful participation at home and in the community. In this role, you will collaborate with families to set personalized goals and provide interventions that support their child’s development. Please note this position is located outside of Calgary city limits in the Okotoks office. Travel to other rural communities in the Foothills region is required.
As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide clinical professional practice both independently and as a part of a collaborative team, which may include external partners. You will be responsible for providing prevention, health promotion, identification, assessment, intervention, and case management. You will participate in the planning, coordination and delivery of rehabilitation services in collaboration with patients/clients, families, healthcare professionals and other partners. You will use your clinical expertise to inform ongoing quality improvement, service integration, and program development.

Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the Alberta College of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists (ACSLPA).
Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program. Current registration with the Alberta College of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologist.
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with the pediatric population and a minimum 2 years’ experience working in a community setting. Experience delivering virtual support. Creative, innovative, and solution focused. Rural experience an asset.
