Insurance Business Development Specialist

Commercial insurance: construction contractors, mechanics & garages, commercial vehicles, professional liability

To support our strong growth in Ontario, we are looking for a Business Development Representative to join our Ontario commercial development team.

As a Business Development Representative, you will be the ambassador of APRIL in Ontario. You will collaborate closely with underwriting, marketing and digital teams to deliver the best experience to our partners.

Meet and support brokers daily to understand their business strategy and identify growth opportunities

  • Promote APRIL appetites, products and digital capabilities
  • Deliver broker training sessions and present APRIL programs (including accredited APRIL Academy webinars)
  • Develop new accredited training content to support broker development
  • Analyze broker performance metrics and proactively drive action plans
  • Report weekly sales activity in the APRIL CRM

Have 3–5 years experience in sales or business development, ideally in P&C insurance

  • Are passionate about building relationships and delivering value to customers
  • Are proactive, results-focused and comfortable working with performance metrics
  • Hold a valid driver’s license (a company vehicle may be provided after the probation period)

Hybrid role: at least 1 day per week at our Toronto office (200 Consumers Rd, North York) or 2 days when not meeting brokers.
