Minimum 5–8 years of progressive engineering leadership experience, preferably in hospitality or a similar environment

• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• A 4th Class Power Engineering Certification is required.
• Proven experience managing capital projects and budgets
• Experience working within a unionized environment is an asset. Strong understanding of WorkSafeBC regulations and building compliance requirements
• Ability to work full-time onsite is required. This is an in-person position that requires a flexible schedule. The primary schedule for the role will be Monday - Friday, but flexibility is required to work evenings and weekends when business needs require.

Oversee the day-to-day operation of all engineering and maintenance functions across the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and marina infrastructure
Ensure the effective execution of a preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and extend asset life
Maintain all HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, fire life safety, and building automation systems

CAPITAL PLANNING & ASSET MANAGEMENT

Develop and manage the hotel’s annual CapEx plan and long-term asset strategy
Lead major repair, renovation, and replacement projects from planning through execution
Monitor asset condition and lifecycle, ensuring alignment with brand standards and ownership expectations
Control departmental budgets, expenses, and procurement processes
WorkSafeBC regulations, Fire and Life safety codes, Environmental and Municipal requirements
Lead emergency preparedness and response planning
Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, and compliance documentation
Establish and manage relationships with external contractors, service providers, and regulatory bodies
Negotiate contracts and oversee service delivery to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and compliance
Energy Efficiency, Water Conservation and Waste reduction
Monitor utility usage and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality
