Accounting Supervisor (Full Time)

TorontoJobs Recruiting Division is searching on behalf of our client for an active Accountant opportunity in the Hamilton Region. This is a full-time, on-site role with a growing finance team that requires additional support due to capacity needs. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Financial Analyst and work closely with accounting, AP, operations, and leadership. Some overtime should be expected.

Although the title may be flexible, this role is strongly rooted in core accounting responsibilities and is well suited for a candidate who enjoys reconciliations, journal entries, month-end support, and day-to-day financial accuracy.

Perform regular reconciliations of the general ledger to subledgers to ensure the accuracy of financial records and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner, including:

Daily bank reconciliations

Parts and equipment reconciliations

Work-in-progress (WIP) reconciliation

Open receiver reconciliation

Branch transfer reconciliation

Vendor reconciliations

Miscellaneous balance sheet account reconciliations

Prepare, review, and post journal entries, including daily and month-end journal vouchers, in accordance with accounting policies and procedures

Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of supporting schedules and audit documentation

Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to ensure timely and accurate processing of vendor payments

Submit payments and financing documentation to the organization’s financing partner

Allocate and review expenses posted to designated accounts

Review and approve employee expense reports in Concur to ensure compliance with company policies

Investigate and resolve accounts receivable discrepancies, including warranty AR corrections and the application of credits

Support inventory accounting processes by reviewing cycle counts, reconciling inventory discrepancies, and ensuring accurate valuation

Collaborate with operations to ensure proper tracking and accounting of inventory movements and adjustments

Prepare financial information and support reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed

Provide support and insight to help improve cost control and operational efficiency

Work closely with accounting, operations, and leadership teams to support organizational objectives

2+ years of experience in accounting or a related field

  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA is an asset, but not mandatory
  • Solid experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, and general accounting processes
  • Comfortable handling both transactional and analytical accounting work
  • Able to work on-site five days per week in the Hamilton Region or nearby surrounding areas
  • Experience with expense platforms such as Concur is an asset
