Accounting Supervisor-CPA

Hopewell Residential currently has an opening for a Junior Accountant, Multi-family to join the team.

Key Responsibilities:

This position will assist the accounting team in the full cycle accounting of various entities;

Prepare, post and collect inter-company invoices;

Prepare period end lead sheets;

Preparation and entry of journal entries;

Account analysis and reconciliations, including bank and inter-company;

Assist the accounting team with the preparation of monthly financial statements;

Liaise with auditors, customers, vendors, etc.;

Assistance with the preparation of monthly draws on financing;

Preparation of monthly GST returns;

Update department policies and procedures;

Participate as a team member within HRM, department team meetings and events;

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Competencies:

Hold a degree or diploma in Commerce, Business Administration, or equivalent discipline;

Professional Accounting designation (CPA) in progress or intention to pursue;

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) applications;

Previous experience with Constellation/Newstar is considered an asset;

Strong attention to detail;

Excellent internal and external client relations skills;

Self-directed, detail-oriented, optimistic, professional;

Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Enthusiastic, professional , and team focused individual;

Strong problem solving capabilities;

Ability to take initiative, organize and meet time sensitive deadlines

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evenings.
