NURSE PRACTITIONER (PERMANENT PART-TIME)

$76.61 - $84.27 per hour

Interior Health is seeking a Permanent Part Time (0.40) Nurse Practitioner in Cranbrook. Foundry East Kootenay is hosted by Ktunaxa Kinbasket Child and Family Services Society. At Foundry centres, multiple service providers and organizations work together to provide a variety of services to youth ages 12-24 and their families. We provide most of our services out of our centre in Cranbrook, BC, and are currently offering weekly virtual family physician services virtually to youth in the greater East Kootenay region.

You'll collaborate with healthcare professionals from various disciplines, creating an environment rich in learning and innovation.

Assess and diagnose undifferentiated diseases and conditions, provide treatment, and prescribe medications in line with the Nurse Practitioner’s scope of practice and regulatory standards.

Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and create individualized treatment plans. May also admit and discharge patients as per organizational policies.

Prescribe medications within legal and regulatory guidelines, ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical treatments.

Leadership and Supervision: Lead and guide other nursing and healthcare personnel. Provide education, supervision, and performance evaluations to support professional development.

Contribute to research aimed at enhancing patient care and advancing nursing practices. Participate in initiatives to influence healthcare policies and population health strategies.

Health Promotion: Lead health promotion activities and screenings, focusing on at-risk populations to prevent illness and promote well-being.

Facilitate interdisciplinary education through case presentations, mentoring, and collaboration in clinical and community settings. Policy Development: Develop, implement, and evaluate policies related to nursing, interdisciplinary care, and health system practices.

Palliative and Long-Term Care: Serve as the most responsible provider for patients in palliative, hospice, and long-term care settings when required.

Safety and Compliance: Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Ensure compliance with training and incident investigation protocols.
