The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of seven Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Communication Sciences and Disorders and Food and Nutritional Sciences), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centers. The faculty has more than 4,000 undergraduate students and more than 900 graduate students (200 PhD students).

The Research Manager is a grant funded role which oversees and allocates work assignments and functions under the supervision of Dr. Modanloo to support a the newcomer health program, and research. The incumbent will participate in the development of processes, provide expertise in response to client needs, and offer support and advice for process improvements or modified client services. The Research Manager will support the implementation of a variety of strategies, systems and procedures. The incumbent will serve as a principal source of information regarding administrative functions, and will monitor, provide analysis, information and reports for review and forecasting. PhD or PhD candidacy in Health Research

At least 3 years of experience in data management, HR management and multiple project coordination/oversight
Experience managing staff and projects; experience with strategy implementation and operationalization preferred
Knowledge of general office procedures
In-depth knowledge of best practices in building a strong collaborative team and leading people
Familiarity with University policies and procedures preferred
Analytical skills in the areas of financial and business management to draft proposals, forecast expenses and monitor other relevant outcomes
Customer service skills with a desire to achieve results in a professional and timely manner
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Project management skills to ensure team roles are clear, milestones are communicated and deadlines are met
Ability to develop strategies that are in line with the University's mission and which balance competing priorities
