Reporting to the General Manager - Materials, the Sales Manager is responsible for the sale of aggregates and hot mix asphalt in the Greater Calgary market by building and maintaining client relationships.
What You'll Do Here:
Communicate the value of Aecon’s products and services to customers.
Develop and execute a targeted sales plan within the marketplace and identify the key decision makers for customer base.
Service current accounts and acquire new business by calling and visiting customers to understand needs.
Bid on incoming tendered projects and search out new project opportunities to achieve sales objectives.
Generate time sensitive sales quotes for customers, negotiate and close out project opportunities.
Coordinate the daily dispatch and delivery of aggregate and asphalt materials to schedule customer orders.
Regular follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with quality and service levels.
Establish and maintain strong business relationships with customers and industry partners.
Support the credit department in collection of accounts receivable.
Monitor market conditions, industry trends and competitor activities
Perform and manage the sales administrative function including periodic performance reporting
Attend and represent the company at industry events.
Regular automobile travel to meet with customers on site.
Ensure that Aecon’s corporate health and safety program is adhered to.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her Supervisor.
What You Bring to the Team:
- CET, Business Degree or equivalent training and experience.
- 5+ years in a sales or marketing position preferably in a construction materials environment (Aggregates, Asphalt, Ready Mix).
- Construction market and industry knowledge an asset.
- Strong computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
- Self-directed and initiative-taking with good organizational skills.
- Adaptable to work a flexible work schedule when required.
- Ability to work with others as a team.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
