Position: Educational Assistant
Contract Type: Temporary 1.00 FTE; Full Time (approximately 30 hours per week)
Friday: 8:15 AM to 11:50 AM (Staff will be required to stay longer when training is being held)
Duration of Position: Immediately - April 10, 2026; As soon as a suitable applicant pool has been established

We are seeking applications for an Educational Assistant to work with our Kindergarten students to prepare them for the grades ahead. This is a temporary full-time contract beginning immediately to January 30, 2026.
This role requires pertinence, kindness, and resiliency, and an understanding of the importance of this role for our students, colleagues, and community.
ABOUT THE SCHOOL: Eastbrook Elementary School is a dynamic and diverse elementary school serving our local communities and families. Our mosaic of families from around the world and those that have called Brooks and Alberta home for generations reflects the multicultural makeup of Canada. We currently serve approximately 465 students from PreKindergarten to Grade 6. We offer a comprehensive PUF program for 3 & 4-year-olds, an Early English Language Learners program for qualifying 4-year-olds, an English Language Learner program for students arriving with little or no English language skills, and an engaging learning program for Grades Kindergarten to Grade 6. support students in instruction as well as with physical, social and behavioral needs;
encourage positive interactions between students and staff;
work closely and collaboratively with school staff including, but not limited to, classroom teachers and administration;
position may include activities such as lifting, transferring, and providing personal care, as necessary; position may have involvement in student school activities such as swimming or outdoor sports and may require the EA to participate with students.
Enjoys working with elementary level students and being in an environment with Pre-K and Kindergarten level students.
Understanding and appreciation of Grasslands Public Schools mission and values.
Able to contribute to a classroom and social environment that put students first by support diversity and inclusion in alignment with Grasslands values.

Education and Certifications:
High School diploma
experience working with children or other vulnerable populations in an educational, health care, or related setting
Considered an asset but not a requirement:

• Post-secondary training in education, as an Educational Assistant, or a related profession would be considered an asset
• 2 + years working with children or in an education setting would be considered an asset
• combination of education and experience may be considered.
