The Registered Nurse at GBGH provides a leadership role within the patient care team and provides care in situations in which the patient's condition is complex and the patient care outcomes are not predictable. Within the scope of practice, as the Registered Nurse you will promote health, assesses and provides care and treatment by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to attain or maintain optimal function for the patient.

The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

• Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
• Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
• Breastfeeding course, Fetal Health Surveillance, OR and Post-partum OBS courses
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively and co-operatively with all levels of staff, patients and the public
• Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job, as per current Physical Demands Analysis
• Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
• Completion of a Physical Assessment of Adult and/or Paediatric Patient course is preferred
• As a partially designated French speaking organization, French verbal and written communication skills are considered an asset in this position

Hourly rate of pay $40.24 - $57.68, up to an additional 14% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation to start

Casual. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA collective agreement.
