$85 per hourTRS Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced and hands-on Advisor, Health & Safety to support our client’s mining project team. This role is focused on field-based safety support, including inspections, audits, incident investigations, and working closely with operations and contractors to ensure safe execution of work.
This is a site-based rotational role (2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, 12-hour shifts) located at a remote mining project in Northern British Columbia.
Conduct field inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards
Work with contractors to ensure risk management requirements are implemented and critical controls are in place
Support incident investigations, including event reporting and root cause analysis (e.g., Deliver safety coaching and guidance to site personnel, including pre-task hazard assessments and risk assessments
Support implementation of site health and safety plans and procedures
Contribute to safety programs including incident management, fatality prevention, and health and wellbeing initiatives
Coordinate safety representative programs and workforce participation initiatives
Support safety management systems, including change management processes
Assist with compliance and assurance activities related to safety standards and procedures
Previous experience in mining, construction, or heavy industrial environments
Experience working in a health and safety or field safety support role
Experience conducting inspections, audits, and incident investigations
Familiarity with safety standards and regulations (e.g., Understanding of hazard identification and risk assessment processes
Ability to work with contractors and operations teams in a field environment
Comfortable working at a remote site on a rotational schedule (2x2, 12-hour shifts)
Experience supporting mining or large construction projects
Familiarity with safety management systems and compliance processes
Basic knowledge of reporting, tracking, and safety performance metrics
