Parks Janitor
Our Lands and Facilities Department is currently seeking individuals with experience performing janitorial tasks and maintenance work to join the Parks Janitor team. Parks Janitors help keep our buildings clean and presentable for patrons to enjoy, performing duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and polishing floors, dusting, cleaning windows and washrooms, performing minor building service tasks, such as replacing fixtures, emptying receptacles, maintaining washroom supplies, and setting up buildings for daily use. Parks Janitors also assist patrons by answering routine requests and providing information relating to the facility and patrolling the building and adjacent grounds. Qualifications include up to high school graduation, with some related experience in janitorial or custodial work or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. The ideal candidate for this position will have knowledge of standard janitorial care and maintenance tasks, including the methods and equipment required, and sufficient strength to perform the work. They will be able to understand oral instructions and have strong customer service ability while interacting with patrons. Skill in the operation of equipment and understanding of general regulations governing the facility is also required. 27.30 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates)

This is an auxiliary position, hours and shifts are based on operational requirements and do not provide guaranteed hours of work, which may include on-call shifts. Typical shifts are 7AM – 3PM, 3PM – 11PM, or 11PM – 7AM, Monday to Sunday.
