This position is open to all qualified CUPE staff throughout Lakeridge Health commencing 18 December 2025 and closing at 11:59 pm on 23 December 2025.

The Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) on the Acute Medicine (G5) unit is required to use the nursing process in providing patient care according to the standards and current scope of practice as set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the policies of Lakeridge Health Corporation; to participate as a member of the Health Care Team by conducting assessments, monitoring patients' medical status, supporting other team members in decision making, ensuring accuracy in clinical documentation of patient care needs and to participate in quality improvement initiatives relevant to the unit and organization as required. Nurses will teach, delegate, assign and supervise Personal Support Workers in delivery of patient care. As an individual practitioner, the RPN will maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice and other related duties as assigned.

Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college

Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing);

Proven related experience in Acute Medicine and/ or similar environment;

CNA certification in geriatrics is an asset;

Updated nursing skills including Aseptic Techniques and Patient Assessment courses;

Ability to work with unregulated health care providers as according to the standards set out by the CNO standards and the LH policies and procedures;

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster good public relations and effective working relationships in a family centred environment;

Demonstrated ability to perform appropriately in emergency situations;

The ability to physically lift, turn and transfer patients manually and with the assistance of mechanical aids;

Must have a satisfactory performance record;
