The Ministry of Highways promotes a safe, reliable, and efficient multi-modal transportation system as a foundation for economic growth and quality of life in Saskatchewan. We design and develop sustainable transportation infrastructure, informed by sound policy, research, and effective regulatory frameworks, to ensure competitiveness and sustainability across all transportation modes.
Our Transportation Policy and Programs Branch is seeking a proactive Senior Policy Analyst focused on research and policy analysis. This role identifies and analyzes trends and emerging issues affecting the transportation sector and recommends policy solutions to strengthen Saskatchewans transportation networks and corridors.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to analyze trends, develop options, and make policy recommendations aligned with ministry goals; gather and interpret data for evidence-based policy development; and draft clear, concise policy documents, reports, and briefing materials. Strong written communication skills and the ability to explain complex matters to diverse audiences are essential. You will build collaborative relationships with ministries, agencies, and stakeholders, accurately interpret legislation and policy, and manage multiple projects to high standards under changing priorities. Knowledge of Saskatchewans multi-modal transportation systems and related issues is required.
Typically, this knowledge is gained through a graduate degree in economics, public administration, public policy, business administration, environmental studies, or a related discipline, combined with more than two years of experience in a similar role. Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
