Power Engineer / Maintenance

Responsibilities
About the Role
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Power Engineer will work alongside our power engineering team to support production by managing plant utility systems and supporting production operations. This role contributes to system optimization, continuous improvement initiatives, and production support activities to ensure reliable and efficient plant performance.
What You'll Do
Operate and monitor boilers, air compressors, chillers, and steam distribution networks
Run manufacturing equipment, support production as line lead, and complete production records as required to support production requirements
Conduct chemical testing and treatment of boiler feedwater and cooling systems
Lead or support maintenance in mold change activities
Maintain accurate operating logs, inspections, and maintenance records
Respond to alarms and coordinate with maintenance teams to address issues
Support outside contractors with machine repairs and upgrades
Identify and implement opportunities for energy efficiency and process improvements
Ensure all systems meet safety and regulatory requirements
Serve as acting lead engineer on shift when a Shift Supervisor is not present
Other duties to support production as needed
Qualifications
Certification: 4th-Class Power Engineer (required)
Experience: Experience operating boilers, compressors, chillers, and utility systems.Prior experience conducting chemical testing and treatment of boiler feedwater and cooling systems. Experience working in a production facility or with EPS (Expanded Polystyrene) systems is an asset.
Skills: Technical troubleshooting, data interpretation, strong organizational/documentation skills, and effective teamwork

Position Details
- Starting salary: $61,000
- Full-time permanent position
- Schedule: Rotating 7-day shifts (12-hour days and nights)
- 7 days on (day shifts) → 7 days off → 7 days on (night shifts) → 7 days off
