Reporting to the Director, Student Services, we are hiring a Manager, Mental Health and Wellness. This is a newly created leadership role, joining our national team, responsible for building and overseeing mental health and wellness services that support student well-being and academic success. You will balance establishing foundational policies, programs, and processes with clinical oversight, case management guidance, and team leadership.
Leading a small team of wellness professionals, you will ensure students have access to high-quality, inclusive, wellness and trauma-informed mental health supports. You will guide the delivery of counselling and case management services while also advancing wellness promotion, prevention initiatives, outreach, and campus partnerships that strengthen the overall student experience.
This is a full-time hybrid role with four days per week at our Ontario campuses (Steeles and downtown campuses), transitioning to our new headquarters at 120 Bloor Street in Fall 2026.
This is a highly visible role where your work will directly shape how mental health and wellness services are delivered across the university. You will influence policies, programs, and service models that support student wellbeing, retention, and risk management, while helping build a more integrated and proactive approach to student mental health.
You will lead a small, growing team and play a central role in developing programs, refining processes, and strengthening how mental health supports are delivered. With the department continuing to evolve, you will have the opportunity to bring new ideas, implement improvements, and help establish sustainable clinical and operational practices.
Yorkville University operates across multiple provinces, offering exposure to diverse student needs, regulatory environments, and institutional priorities. This role will expand your experience in clinical leadership, crisis and risk management, program development, and post-secondary mental health strategy within a multi-campus institution.
As our new Manager, Mental Health and Wellness, you will:
You will contribute to institutional policies, procedures, and guidelines related to mental health, risk management, privacy, and clinical practice standards. You will manage program budgets, staff resources, and contracted services, ensuring fiscal accountability and maintaining clear documentation, protocols, and operational standards for mental health services.
You will collect and analyze data on service utilization, student needs, and program outcomes to inform continuous improvement and institutional planning. You will participate in committees and working groups, aligning mental health services with the university’s broader goals related to student success, wellbeing, and retention.
You will supervise clinical staff, peer support workers, and student staff who deliver counselling and peer support. You will design and implement mental health and wellness initiatives, including workshops, resilience training, peer mentorship programs, prevention and outreach activities (physical fitness, food safety, sleep hygiene, etc.), You will help establish strategies for early identification of student mental health needs and promote a positive campus mental health culture.
You will incorporate equity-centred practices in service delivery and collaborate with internal partners to support marginalized or vulnerable students.
Build partnerships across campus and the community. You will work closely with academic and student services teams to integrate wellness supports across campus life. You will also develop relationships with external mental health and healthcare organizations to strengthen referral pathways and ensure a continuum of care for students.
You will provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and professional development to a multidisciplinary team of counsellors, peer-support workers, administrative staff, and student volunteers. You will recruit, coach, and support staff while fostering a healthy, sustainable team culture that prioritizes ethical practice, wellbeing, and retention.
You have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, Student Affairs, Higher Education, or a related field. Registration with a recognized regulatory body (such as CRPO or equivalent) is considered an asset but is not required.
You bring experience working within a post-secondary or higher-education environment and understand the unique frameworks, policies, and student support structures that operate within universities or colleges. You are familiar with the student lifecycle and the role mental health and wellness services play in student success, retention, and campus wellbeing.
You have experience building or improving programs, policies, processes, and operational structures within student services, counselling, or wellness environments. The mental health and student support knowledge. You bring strong knowledge of crisis response, case management, and student mental health support. You are comfortable overseeing complex or high-risk student situations and guiding teams through appropriate responses, referrals, and escalation processes.
You have experience mentoring and guiding teams, and providing day-to-day support in environments where staff may need help navigating complex student situations. You build trust across academic and administrative teams and are confident in making thoughtful decisions in sensitive or high-risk situations.

You are comfortable working occasional evenings or weekends to support campus programming, orientation activities, or crisis response as required.
