Warehouse/Delivery Associate- Full Time

G-P Distributing is a locally owned and operated food service distributor that has been servicing the Yukon and North Western NWT since 1995. Position: Warehouse Worker
This position is responsible for performing an array of duties such as loading and unloading delivery vehicles, quality control, accepting incoming orders, processing, and packing orders, counting inventory, and ensuring orders are prepared and shipped in a timely manner. They will need to always keep the work environment clean and tidy, and comply with all relevant safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Job Type : Warehouse Class : Full-time (40 hrs. per week)
Hourly Pay : $19-$22 per hour based on experience
Key responsibilities
Load and unload merchandise from trucks
Receive the freight using the handheld
Put away freight with proper rotation
Complete appropriate documentation for all outbound shipments
Stack, wrap and store milk crates
Stack and store pallets
Ensure the produce is culled and the product dates are checked twice a week
Quickly and efficiently pick, pack and label customer orders for shipment
Carry or transport orders to delivery platforms with pallet jacks
Assist any customers when picking up orders and making sure they get what they ordered all the while providing exceptional customer service and demonstrate professionalism
Repack and weigh any orders that require such handling when necessary
Assist in counting inventory
General warehouse duties such as cleaning, organizing and basic maintenance and repairs
Qualifications
Ability to work well in a fast paced and physically demanding environment
Self-motivated
Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
High level of attention to detail
Ability to multi-task
Able to comfortably lift and carry a minimum of 50lbs
Must carry a valid class 5 driver’s license
Positive attitude, professional manner, and appearance in all situations
Past work experience in a warehouse and/ or food service environment is an asset
