Join the team at Andaz Ottawa as General Manager for our Copper Spirits & Sights Cocktail Bar — a key leadership role driving exceptional guest experience .

As a member of the Food & Beverage team, this position reports to the hotel General Manager. They will be responsible for managing the outlet as a successful independent profit center, in line with the outlet’s operating concept and Hyatt International standards, ensuring maximum guest satisfaction while operating within budget, helping to ensure the financial success of the outlet.

To prepare and update the bar’s operations manuals.
To conduct pre-shift briefings and regular communications meetings, ensuring that they are effective and conducted as necessary.
Ensure efficient communication between team colleagues and other departments of the hotel.

Customer Service
To ensure that all colleagues at the bar provide exceptional guest service at all times.
To handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to make sure problems are resolved satisfactorily.

To ensure that the monthly forecasted food and beverage revenues are achieved and to proactively manage all costs.
To maximize colleague productivity through the use of multi-skilling, multi-tasking and flexible scheduling in order to meet the financial goals of the outlet as well as the expectations of the guests.
To assist in the maintenance of the outlet point-of-sales system.
To assist in the inventory management and ongoing maintenance of hotel operating equipment and other assets, including establishing par stocks, equipment care and maintenance and inventory taking as required.

To constantly evaluate local, national and international market trends, vendors and other hotel/restaurant operations to make sure that the hotel’s own operations remain competitive and cutting edge.
To assist in the implementation (where appropriate) of marketing programs, including frequent-dining programs.

To ensure that employees follow all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to fire and hazard safety, security and updated certifications.

To establish and oversee consistent implementation of service standards and training colleagues as necessary.
Hire, train, empower, coach/counsel, performance reviews and development of colleagues within the team.
To develop an outstanding beverage selection that is competitive in the local marketplace.
To work closely with the Chef on the food menu’s and create various events during the year.
To work with the Engineering and Housekeeping Manager to ensure that the outlet is clean, properly maintained and cared for.

Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds

• At least 5 years’ experience in a senior role in a food and beverage with proven leadership skills
• Hotel/Hospitality degree is an asset
• Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line
• Clear concise written and verbal communication skills in English - Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
