Senior Software Engineer - Planning

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Software Developer to join our team in Toronto. This role is focused on building modern, cloud-native web applications using a robust Microsoft and JavaScript technology stack. You will be responsible for the end-to-end development lifecycle—from translating user stories and UI/UX artifacts into technical specifications to deploying scalable, AODA-compliant solutions within an Agile environment.

Design and implement overall solution architecture using React, Next.js, and Node.js, ensuring speed and scalability across the entire stack.

Construct and integrate secure REST API services, connecting modern front-end UIs with robust back-end systems.
Database Management: Utilize SQL and Entity Framework (or similar ORM tools) for efficient data access and relational database design.
Develop and renew web applications using Microservice and Serverless architectures, leveraging Azure Cloud PaaS and SQL services.
Quality Assurance: Support comprehensive testing activities, including Unit Testing (NUnit/XUnit), Test Automation (Playwright/Karma), and Load/Penetration testing.
Compliance: Ensure all digital products meet WCAG/AODA standards for web accessibility.
DevOps & CI/CD: Support the implementation and upkeep of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines using Git and Azure DevOps.
Collaboration: Work within a balanced team of BAs, UX Designers, and Product Managers to deliver high-quality Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
Front-End Expertise: Deep experience with React, Next.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript, including libraries like React Query, Hook Form, and Zustand.
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and the design of RESTful Web APIs.
Data Access: Proven mastery of Entity Framework (or other ORM tools) and complex SQL querying.
Solid knowledge of WCAG 2.0/AODA regulations and standards for web application development.
Agile Experience: 5+ years working in a Scrum/Agile environment, contributing to task planning, daily stand-ups, and iteration demos.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to provide technical leadership and knowledge transfer to team members.
